Boarding at Las Cañitas Pier

Enjoy a truly unique experience in the Dominican Republic: Humpback Whale Watching. Every year between January and March, these majestic whales migrate to our coastal waters to breed, offering an unforgettable natural spectacle.

We depart from your hotels and travel across the Eastern Plains toward Las Cañitas in Miches, enjoying scenic countryside views along the way.

Whale Watching Experience

Upon arrival at Las Cañitas Pier, we board the boat and head out to the Whale Sanctuary, where we spend approximately two and a half hours searching for and observing humpback whales in their natural habitat.

Cayo Levantado (Bacardi Island)

After the whale-watching experience, we head to Cayo Levantado, also known as Bacardi Island, where you’ll enjoy lunch and beach time (approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes).
Lunch is served buffet-style, featuring traditional Dominican cuisine.

El Limón Waterfall Adventure

After lunch, we board the boat again and head to the Samaná Pier, where a safari-style truck will be waiting to take us to a local ranch.
From there, we saddle up for a 30-minute horseback ride through pristine tropical forest and along the riverbanks, leading us to the breathtaking El Limón Waterfall, which drops over 60 metres.
Here, you’ll have time to enjoy a refreshing and revitalizing swim beneath the falls.

After the waterfall experience, we return to the ranch, board the safari truck once more, and head back to Samaná Pier to begin our return journey.

Restrictions:
Not suitable for pregnant women, or guests using wheelchairs, crutches, or walking canes.

Schedule

  • 06:00 am – Departure from Bayahibe

  • 07:20 am – Departure from Bávaro

  • 08:30 am – Departure from Miches

  • 09:30 am – Arrival at Las Cañitas Pier, boarding and start of whale watching

  • 11:30 am – End of whale watching, departure to Cayo Levantado

  • 12:00 pm – Arrival at Cayo Levantado, lunch and beach time

  • 01:30 pm – Departure from Cayo Levantado to Samaná

  • 01:50 pm – Arrival in Samaná, transfer by safari truck to El Limón Waterfall

  • 02:30 pm – Arrival at the ranch and horseback ride to the waterfall (approximately 2 hours at the waterfall)

  • 04:30 pm – Return to the ranch and transfer back to Samaná Pier

  • 05:00 pm – Arrival at the pier, boarding the boat and return to Las Cañitas and your hotels
